Knitting

I have been knitting much lately, and recently i made a toy for Majken and Kajsa ( although Majken has made it quite clear that it is her toy).

It was very easy i just knotted two strips, one longer and thicker than the other and then i just put them together.

Majken now constanly carries her toy around everywhere and tends to drop it by my feet in an attempt to say "mommy, I want to play!"

Fall, School, and Swmming.

So our pool is not yet open, but it is starting to look really nice. Today we had our first practice and it was held at the close by High school. I will post a picture of the pool once everything is completed.

It is true, College only gets tougher by the year. That is we get more and more readings and essays. My classes are very interesting therefore i cant complain.

For the past week I was finding these two cat beanie baby dolls in different places throughout my room, such as under my bed, under my covers, and behind my pillows. Eventually ieven found them downstairs on the couch. Well i finally figured out that it is Majken who has found two little friends. I caught her carrying one around and later found her playing with it. Her favorite one is even really dirty from her playing with it so much.

Majken also really enjoyes playing with any form of bags and boxes:

Sisterly love, Kajsa is saying "She stared it!!!"

School, but not...

So classes have yet to begin, and today was a total relaxation day for me. I played with the cats and crafted. I even got some sketching in!
I have been trying to make things for the house lately and so far I have made these little things:

This is something I made to keep my necklaces from getting tangled. All I did was to take a piece of wood, paint it, drill holes, and then take different fun doorknobs and put them in the holes. It was a fun and easy project that i thought of a few weeks ago.

This is something i got from my mom, and all i did was to paint, decorate, and then put it together. The letters are glittery, I actually got them at Walmart for like 7 dollars, a big pack of them! i would like to add something to it but I dont know what yet.

I also made a round card for my youngest sisters. I got them cute little shirts and wanted to send a card with it.

Majken and Kajsa are causing trouble, so I have to go downstairs and see what they are up to!

Love,
Elin

Long time, little writing

School starts on Thursday, and today i spent the whole day greeting the incoming freshman. Its nice to get more people on the team. The girls team pretty much doubled in size.

The other day I was at home and the kittens ( I am taking care of Kajsa, mommy's cat) were running around the house. And all of a sudden I turn around and find Kajsa sitting on the top of my doorway into the kitchen. We have like a wide molding on the top, and there she was, just hanging out. I did take a picture but its on my phone so i have not been able to get it uploaded. Anyways, this little cat is not as innocent as i first though :) Majken may play and get tangled in everything, but Kajsa jumps up on everything!

Little Majken

...and Kajsa

They both really like the screened in porch, so I try to get them out there as much as possible.

Layout

This is my layout that i have been working on this past week. I created this layout for a challenge by Scrapmojo. The challenge was to use lyrics by the Ditty Bops and also to doodle.
The song i chose was The Next Best Thing, and the lines: Why don't we travel with the wind... 'till our hearts begin to sing.

These photos are from when me and Mike went hiking up in New York.

And as always, here is the little kitten, who is growing by the minute!

Happy late 4th of july

Last weekend i went to visit my boyfriend Mike and his family in NY, no not NY City, but Fort Montgomery, a little place right by West Point.

Since Mike lives by the Hudson, there are a lot of mountains and pretty scenery. So on the day after 4th of July, we went hiking up one of the mountains. As soon as we got to the top it started raining so we didn't stay up there for long!

I also made a 4th of July card for mikes Family,

All the paper came from... my mother, she was nice enough to let me come home and steal some of her new paperer :-)

I will also have a layout done soon, its for a challenge and i have used the pictures from the hiking trip.

Well tomorrow I am leaving for Sweden which is going to be really exciting, since I will hopefully see my whole family!

mini album

Fist of all, sorry for the poor quality of these pictures.
I was inspired when i saw my mom's new scallop punches and decided to make a mini album and because i'm kitten crazy right now, what subject would be better than my little kitten Majken!

First i had to sandpaper the pieces so the paint would stick better, i probably painted about 4 layers on each side to make the sides really white.

The album itself is not more than about 5 centimeters and therefore i could not fit much text on the pages but is it not true that a picture says more than a 1000 words?

Last weekend me an Majken too a trip to moms house to visit the siblings (both mine and Majkens), she absolutely hates sitting in the carrier so i let her sit in m lap (Mike was driving). When we parked I let her walk around on the dashboard and she was absolutely fascinated by the birds that were flying outside. I just though she was so cute the way she was sitting and looking out the window.

Happy late midsummer and early 4th of July
